Our trainers will train you privately, in small groups, or Boot Camp style. We alter each workout to give you the specific attention that your body needs. Whether your intent is to lose inches, lower your 5k time, or pack on a few pounds of muscle, we will design the program that is appropriate for you.
Our trainers will monitor your heart rate to guarantee that you receive the most effective workout possible. We will take your body fat measurements, and we will sit down and have a heart to heart about your nutrition and diet.

No two people have the same exact body type or chemistry, so it is up to us to help you create the ideal program to attain best results.

Susan Merrihew:
I have been a fitness trainer for 19yrs. My  certification is from UC Irvine and I spent the first 12 yrs at Prosport Physical Therapy in Newport Beach. My experience is varied with an emphasis on the senior population.  Working with pre and post op (hip, knee, shoulder) clients is particulary rewarding because together we make the healing process safe and effective.  My continuing education includes certification from Desert Southwest Fitness for Parkinsons 

and Alzheimers and American Institute of Fitness Educators for older adults. Women in their 40’s and 50’s experiencing pre and post menopause have had tremdous results from our work together in strength, balance, flexibility and endurance programs. My approach is keep it safe and make it fun. I am dedicated to helping others enjoy the benefits of a higher quality of life – it is my passion!

David Westendick

I have been a successful personal trainer for over 8 years, with current certificates in IFPA (International Fitness Professional Association), Expert Rating and CPR.  I’m also a skilled athlete in a range of sports, specifically in baseball, basketball and soccer.  In addition, I have a background in Karate and I am a Body Roxx specialist.  I have trained with the best, including Silvio Samuelson, the #6 IFBB (International Federation Body Building) Pro in the world.                                                              ** BodyRoXX Certified***

Sarah Daum

Sarah Daum has been a certified personal trainer now for 6 years and holds 3 nationally credited certifications for training. She also graduated from Loyola Marymount with a Pre-Physical Therapy degree. Her passion and love for fitness has given her the drive to learn more and experience more for her clients benefit. Her clients will not only get in great shape, but feel great, possess more strength and confidence, and will learn they can achieve their goals with the right plan.                               ** BodyRoXX Certified**

Mark Jelinek

Mark Jelinek is a 1o year certified personal trainer who brings the energy of a true athlete to Back Bay Fitness. His ever present smile is a morale booster for the Staff. Don’t let the mellow attitude fool you…Mark trains as hard as any trainer in the gym.

 

Edgar Islas:
